ARCADIA, Wis. – The Fountain City Business and Community Group (FCBC) has been selected by Ashley for the Arts as the recipient of the 2023 Community Cares Grant. The FCBC is an association comprised of local business owners and community members that aims to help improve and support the community and promote tourism and business growth. The grant will go towards the construction of a new band shelter, helping to expand live entertainment opportunities for the annual Rhythms by the River concert series. The band shelter will create a permanent home for artistic expression, collaboration, and community growth.
“The Community Cares Grant has truly transformed the future of Rhythms by the River,” stated Christine Williamson, Project Coordinator, Fountain City Business and Community Group. “We are excited to construct a band shelter that will serve as a vibrant cultural hotspot, uniting the community through music. This shelter will not only enhance our concert series but will also create economic growth for our local area. We invite everyone to join us as we transform our park into a beloved gathering spot.”
The fourth annual Rhythms by the River concert series will host live music every third Thursday from May through September beginning at 5:30 pm at Fountain City Community Park in Fountain City, Wisconsin. Throughout the concert series, hundreds of attendees are drawn to the concerts to enjoy music, food trucks, and community fun. Rhythms by the River has since outgrown the existing band shelter at the park and is expanding the shelter to house more bands and community members throughout the summer. The expansion will allow for more music offerings during the annual concert series and will also be used for “Hollywood Nights”, summer movie nights, and alfresco performances throughout 2024.
“We are thrilled to join forces with the Fountain City Business and Community Group in supporting the Rhythms by the River concert series through our Community Cares Grant,” stated Cole Bawek, Event Director, Ashley for the Arts. “Our partnership solidifies our commitment to promoting accessibility to the arts and fostering a sense of community by supporting the mission of the Fountain City Business and Community Group.”
The Ashley for the Arts Community Cares Grant was created to provide support for local educational, civic and non-profit organizations that promote the arts, music and broadening cultural horizons within their community.
